Dr Henry Aughterson, PhD MBBS iBSc *
Hi, I’m Dr Henry Aughterson.
I’m a medical doctor trained at University College London (UCL), currently working part-time in A&E.
I am an experienced researcher with over 1400 citations across the field of mental health. My PhD was under the supervision of Professor Daisy Fancourt (one of the world’s leading academics) in Behavioural Sciences and Health (UCL), researching community group support - social prescribing - for those with mental health & addiction problems. I am currently doing post-doctoral research at UCL and Queen Mary’s University London (QMUL).
I am also a trainee-psychotherapist at Re-vision (integrative, transpersonal psychotherapy & counselling)
Just as importantly as any of this professional experience, is my own previous lived experience of mental health challenges. This actively informs and motivates my research, as well as my work as a doctor, trainee-therapist & coach.
I also create social media content on mental health, with a growing platform of over 10,000 followers across Instagram (doctor_mentalhealth) and LinkedIn.
